Sunny regions

The conversion of sunlight into electricity is particularly interesting in sunny regions of the earth, such as southern Europe, Africa, Central America, South America, India, Australia and other countries, as shown in the radiation map.

A photovoltaic system in Southern Europe can produce almost twice as much electricity per annum as in Germany. Today’s systems can produce solar electricity costing about € 0.3/KWh in sunny regions.
